DO I NEED MASTERING?

Absolutely. Mastering is the last vital step in the music creation process.

Recording, editing and mixing are all performed at relatively low levels when compared to a commercial/mastered release. The main reason for this is to prevent digital clipping or digital distortion. Also, operating analog gear and most digital audio plug-in effects at lower levels yields higher quality results.

There are a few tasks commonly performed during the mastering process that are often overlooked. Tasks such as: creating a song fade in/out, adjusting the time and transitions between songs in an album and embedding metadata into a song such as artist name and album artwork. So one can see mastering is not just about making a song louder.

If you want your song to playback at the same or similar level to other music released on Apple Music, Spotify, etc., then mastering is a necessity.

PODCAST QUESTIONS

DO YOU WRITE SHOW NOTES?

I do not write show notes or show transcriptions.

CAN YOU UPLOAD TO MY DISTRIBUTION PLATFORM?

If you book my Premium Editing Package, I can upload the mastered episode to your distribution platform. I only offer the uploading of episodes. This is done as a courtesy and does not include scheduling release dates or any social media promotions or management.

SHOULD MY PODCAST BE MONO OR STEREO?

I always recommend stereo, especially if your podcast contains music and/or sound effects. A stereo file can be summed to mono, but a mono file can not be split into a stereo file.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO COMPLETE MY EPISODE?

In most cases, an episode can be finished within 1 - 2 days. This is dependent on the length of the episode and editing requirements of course.

CAN YOU CREATE MUSIC OR SOUND EFFECTS FOR MY PODCAST?

I do not create/produce music or sound effects for podcasts. I have a collection of licensed sound effects available if needed, but I can't guarantee that I have the exact sound you're looking for. I often recommend hiring a musician/producer to create a custom music track for your podcast from sites like Fiverr or Upwork. AudioJungle is a great place to purchase music and sound effects for your podcast.

Yes! I currently don't receive enough requests for this type of service to include details on this site, but it is available for those who need it. Please fill out the form on my Contact page to get started.
